though the service desk employee was very friendly they were incable of doing the job at hand. dropped our vehicle off at our appointment time (20 minutes early actually) to have tires mounted and balanced. we went back almost 2 hours later and they only had one tire barely done. they also improperly balanced the one tire they had completed. we ended up taking them home and doing them in the dark by hand in 45 minutes. would not go back!!
First time here, they installed the brake caliper incorrectly causing the brake line to fail on the car. Second time, my fault, friends car was looked at for a noise, was told it was a serious recall on the transmission. Further research on my end revealed no such recall, rather an extended warranty. People were friendly enough, but the knowledge is not there.
I had to have my car towed in because it wouldn't start. Even though I called in this morning, they were able to get the work completed in a relatively short time.

Pep boys was amazing and so helpful! They were open on Christmas Eve (which I already know sucks) and yet they were all so kind and worked so quickly ! We are lucky we got a flat near their store and no where else because now we can make it home in time for Christmas Eve dinner. We are very grateful
In June 2016, I had 3 tire pressure sensors replaced on my car. The following morning I had a flat tire on my car, which was repaired that day (after waiting several hours). Almost a year and a half later, my dealership inspected my wheels to find that one stud was stripped and another broken. My choice was to sign a waiver out the door or drop $250 to replace something that shouldn't go bad. Pep Boys was the only place to touch my wheels, therefore the mechanics did something wrong and likely tightened the studs way too tight. This is never something I'd think I'd have to deal with. Very disappointed.
